The Dirt on Polyethylene

Our competitors boast that their drums are, “constructed of non-corrosive polyethylene material for durability and long life compared to mild steel drums.”

There’s a reason nobody ever says

“Nerves of polyethylene,”
“Polyethylene-toed boots,”
or, “The Man of Polyethylene”

This is why……

The BIOvator® is made of galvanized and stainless steel. You know, “STEEL,” a word synonymous with hard, durable, unflinching, strong. We make the

BIOvator® out of steel, so that it can stand up to wind, rain, hail, heat and cold, and the wear and tear of industry. We make it out of steel so that it doesn’t split open.

For children’s toys and margarine tubs, polyethylene is fine. For high-volume organic waste management for your business — stick with steel.

University of Winnipeg puts the BIOvator® to the test, by joining The Forks compositing initiative.

Nioex is extremely pleased to announce that the University of Winnipeg is partnering with The Forks Renewal Corporation to send all campus food scraps, and biodegradable containers and cutlery to be composted in The Forks' BIOvator®.

“This partnership allows for a neighbourhood-level solution to waste management, and helps us fulfill our mutual deep commitment to sustainable practices,” said Dr. Lloyd Axworthy, President and Vice-Chancellor, UWinnipeg.

The new partnership is a big step forward toward a greener downtown, with more sustainable organic waste management practices — and the BIOvator® is leading the way!

“We’re very excited at the prospect of doubling the BIOvator® ‘s current load at The Forks site,” said Nioex President, and BIOvator® supplier, Shawn Compton, “This is the first and largest urban composting project in Western Canada, and we hope this partnership is just the beginning of large-scale composting in Winnipeg – we’re ready for the challenge.”
